North Wales weekend including Snowdon, 16-19 March 2012
This is to give you more details on the trip to Capel Curig in Wales planned for 16-19 March 2012. We have some wonderful hikes/ walks planned with stunning scenery. These will include the Snowdon Horseshoe including Crib Gogh, walks along the Miners and Pigs tracks to the summit of Snowdon, hikes near Tryfan and the Glyders, which can be done using medium gradient tracks or direct scrambles.
The costs for the weekend are:
€125 for accommodation and food, and
€115-150 for the car ferry.
Accommodation is in Glan Dwr Mountain Lodge in Capel Curig.
Ferry transport with Irish Ferries is €448.00 - €458.00 for 1 car + 4 people (depending on time of travel). The route is Dublin to Holyhead. Outward Ferry times are 8.05, 8.45, 14.30, or 20.55. Return Ferry times are 11.50, 14.10, 17.15. Once we have all the names and people who are willing to drive we can put you into groups and the responsibility of booking the ferry will be down to each group.
Numbers for this weekend are limited to 20 so you need to act quickly so not to be disappointed. We ask for full payment of €125.00, preferably to be made online if you can, please ensure you put your name on the online payment so we know who it is from and let Florence know when the lodgement has been made. You can get the bank details from Florence. Cheques can also be accepted, again contact Florence for her postal address. Deadline for bookings is 31 January.
On the mountains the weather can change very quickly. This means that all hikers should come prepared with adequate hiking gear, including rain gear, warm clothes and a pair of proper walking boots.
